Name: | Unity |
Developer: | Llamasoft |
Systems: | GameCube |
Due date: | 2005 |
Unity is a cancelled GameCube from Llamasoft.
It would to be a trippy arcade shooting game.
Gameplay[edit]
Unity was to be a psychedelic Tempest-style game.
Development[edit]
Unity began as an idea in 1994 just after Jeff Minter finished Tempest 2000.
Unity was dubbed so because it combines Minter's interests: music, light, and shooting things.
Peter Molyneux asked Minter if he wanted to do his thing with the new GameCube console.
Not wanting to turn down Molyneux, Jeff got to work.
Cancellation[edit]
The game was taking too long to develop.
Lionhead Studio was not too impressed by the game.
After two years it was a mutual decision to end production.
Timeline:
- January 2003: Unity announced
- December 2004: Unity cancelled
