Due date: | 2002 |
Silent Space is a cancelled PS2, Xbox, and PC game by Crytek.
It was to be a sci-fi space shooter game set in space.
Plot
The setting is an ongoing war that has nearly destroyed humanity.
From there you fly around in a ship blasting the enemy.
The plot of the campaign unfolds as the war escalates and hopefully concludes with our victory.
Development
Crytek experimented with a new engine variant: CrySpace.
Specially crafted for the game, it allowed for more advanced features than similar engines.
The advanced AI allowed for more militaristic precision that dynamically reacts to our moves.
Cancellation
Silent Space was cancelled due to a long development cycle and zero interested publishers.
