Madden NFL '96 was a cancelled PlayStation game, developed by Visual Concepts.
It was intended to be the first NFL game on PS1.
Development
EA Sports wanted a different developer for the PS1 version of the game.
Visual Concepts were doing a horrible inefficient job of making the game.
EA was doubtful the game could be released in 1996.
Cancellation
Once the press got early builds to play around with, Electronic Arts were not impressed by the negative reception.
EA cancelled the because it did not meet their standards.
